"It is the MVA's goal to reduce customer wait times for all of our customers," said Milt Chaffee, MVA Administrator in a statement.  "We offer many online services for existing customers, but new customers have to visit an MVA branch office to complete their transactions.  Allowing customers to make an appointment, will give them a specific time for their arrival at a time convenient to them and reduce their wait at the MVA."

To schedule an appointment customers can now log on to the MVA website and click on Online Services.  From the dropdown box, they should select Document Guide to follow the instructions on how to schedule an appointment.

The MVA's Document Guide provides an easy to use check-off list of the documents that must be presented at the MVA to obtain a Maryland driver's license, commercial driver's license, learner's or moped permit, or identification card.  A Social Security Number is required to schedule an appointment. Appointments are available at all MVA Branch Offices.
