Maryland State Police say a motorcyclist was killed when he lost control on a curve near Hagerstown and was ejected from the vehicle.
It happened about 1 p.m. Thursday on Maryland 40. Troopers say 29-year-old Zachary Macintosh of Point of Rocks was traveling east near Beverly Road at 75 to 80 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Police say a trooper saw Macintosh speeding and activated his cruiser's emergency lights and siren in an effort to get Macintosh to pull over.
Authorities say Macintosh continued speeding and ran a red light. Police say about a mile away, he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve and was ejected from the bike.
Macintosh was pronounced dead at the scene.
