More details about UMd shooting victims
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
More details are emerging about the victims involved in the off-campus murder-suicide at the University of Maryland.
The sole survivor of the shooting has been identified as 22-year-old Neal Oa.
Oa's stepfather says he was shot in the leg by his roommate Dayvon Green, as he was running away.
Oa has been released from the hospital and is home recovering. Family members say he plans to return to College Park as soon as possible.
Oa's other roommate, Stephen Rane, did not survive the shooting. He was a senior at Maryland, majoring in English.
Rane graduated from Centennial High School in Ellicott City.
His mother and stepfather both work at the University of Maryland.
Police say Green set fires at the home he lived in with Oa and Rane and once they both were outside, Green started shooting. He later killed himself.
His family says he struggled with mental illness.
