An injured American bald eagle is being treated by wildlife specialists after a Montgomery County police officer rescued it.
Police said some reported the injured bird in the area of River Road and Riverwood Drive last week.
Animals Services Division Officer Jennifer Gill met with the resident who watched the eagle walk into the woods.

Gill found the eagle and wrapped it in towels, and Maryland Department of Natural Resources Officer Danny Thomas helped her put the bird in a carrier to take it to Owl Moon Raptor Center, which specializes in birds of prey.

According to the center, the eagle has a relatively recent soft tissue injury.
Gill named the eagle Trust.
