Ex-convicts may soon get a second look when applying for a job in Montgomery County.
County officials are looking to implement the so-called "ban the box" law.
The bill would prevent employers from asking about criminal history before an interview, but does not eliminate background checks. Those involved with prison release programs say, all people need is a second chance.
The legislation was introduced yesterday and still needs to go to committee. Ten states have implemented similar legislation and Baltimore City passed the law earlier this year.
