BALTIMORE - Feeling lucky?
It may be the day after St. Patrick’s Day, but the Mega Millions jackpot is climbing.
Maryland Lottery officials said the jackpot is up to $400 million, with a $224.8 million cash option. The winning numbers will be drawn Tuesday night.
The winner can choose between a 29-year annuity -- $9.13 million a year after taxes -- or the cash option. If the winner chooses the cash option, he or she will walk away with $148.93 million after taxes.
Maryland would win big as well, collecting $19.67 million in tax revenue, lottery officials said.
The retailer who sells the winning ticket would also receive a $100,000 bonus.
