The jackpot continues to rise.
According to Maryland Lottery officials, Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot is now up to $586 million with a $316.5 million cash option.
This comes after no one won Friday's $425 million drawing. Tuesday's jackpot is the second highest in Mega Millions history and becoming the fourth largest jackpot in U.S. history.
Maryland Lottery officials said the jackpot has rolled 21 times since the Oct. 4 drawing. Coincidentally, the last Mega Millions winner came from Maryland when an Anne Arundel County family won $189 million following the Oct. 1 drawing.
In 2013 , Maryland has welcomed 16 second-tier winners, including two with Megaplier for $1 million.
Maryland was also home to the largest jackpot in history when the state, along with Illinois and Kansas each sold a winning ticket as part of a $656 million Mega Millions jackpot on March 30, 2012.
