The fight for medical marijuana in Maryland presses on.
GTI Maryland is suing the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission and its 16 commissioners.
At the end of July, the subcommittee voted 5-0 to recommend GTI and 14 other growers for licenses.
The 15 applicants had been rated top picks based on a "double-blind" evaluation conducted by Towson University's Regional Economic Studies Institute.
Two days later, four of the five members changed their vote and substituted GTI Maryland and another group for two groups that didn't make the top 15 list.
Pete Kedens, CEO of GTI Maryalnd said, "We are filing this lawsuit because the Commission's removal of GTI from the top 15 list was improper and illegal. We earned pre-approval for a license, and we want what is rightfully ours."
GTI says a written dissent was made when the subcommittee changed their mind and they have filed a request to see it.
