ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Maryland House of Delegates has approved a measure to provide health insurance to people who tried to enroll on the state's online health exchange but couldn't get through due to computer problems.
The House voted 94-42 on Tuesday. The state Senate already has passed a version of the bill. Some changes made by the House will need approval by the Senate to send the bill to Gov. Martin O'Malley, who proposed the measure.
It would enable people who can show they tried to get through the exchange for coverage Jan. 1 to get retroactive coverage to the first of the year by enrolling in a separate state health insurance pool.
