MTA commuter buses and the Marc train remain suspended Sunday, and officials say they plan to make a decision about whether service will resume Monday.

The Maryland Transit Administration's decision to shut down this weekend in advance of the blizzard was unprecedented, administrator Paul Comfort said Saturday.

Comfort told ABC2 News that the MTA has completely shut down only three times in the last 40 years. But usually, that's in the middle of a storm, leaving travelers stranded.

"We wanted to let our customers know what we were going to do," he said.

Comfort said MTA service could be restored by Monday. Offcials announced through social media that MTA Mobility Reservations Call Center is scheduled to open at 3 p.m. Sunday and will remain open until 8 p.m.
