Maryland studying possibility of lottery tickets sales online

The Maryland Lottery is always looking for new ways to let yourself play, and now it may be turning to the internet to boost ticket sales.

Waiting in long lines to buy a lottery ticket may become a thing of the past.

The Maryland State Lottery Agency wants the legislature to allow online lottery play.

The State Lottery Agency says in other states online tickets have improved sales up to 18%.

The agency says habits of consumers have changed already.

53% of players get their results online.

Bonnie Henderson plays once in a while and is not really sure about using the internet for lottery tickets.

"It's too risky and I wouldn't want that information online."

Speaker Mike Busch says that state has commissioned a study for online lottery and will use that study when this proposition is addressed in the 2012 legislative session.

Busch says there are a lot of things the state needs to consider.
