Maryland ranks in top 5 for best states for women to live and work

A new study puts Maryland in the top five of best states for women to live and work.

The list was put together by movehub, a relocation company.

The study was based on the gender pay gap, political representation in the state legislature, equality in education, accessibility to health insurance, reproductive rights and the number of incidents of violence against women at the hands of men.

The top five are: Hawaii, Vermont, Minnesota, Illinois and Maryland.

The five worst starts are: Oklahoma, Louisiana, Utah, Mississippi and South Carolina.
