GRASONVILLE, Md (WMAR) - A man was shot and killed on his 18th birthday in Queen Anne's County Thursday afternoon.
A preliminary investigation by the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office has revealed that the victim, identified as Bryan James Flamer of Grasonville, was involved in an altercation with the suspect before being shot.
The Sheriff's office believes 18-year-old Bruce Dareen Johnson of Queen Anne pulled out a pistol during the altercation and fired several shots, with at least two bullets hitting Flamer in the back.
The incident happened in the 300 Block of Sawmill Lane in Grasonville around 4:00 p.m.
Investigators report that Johnson ran into a wooded area after the shooting.
It would be when several people who live in the area noticed Johnson running from the other side of the woods that police would take him into custody.
Flamer was taken to Queen Anne's Emergency Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Detectives discovered Johnson had a history with law enforcement after he was arrested. The Sheriff's office tells ABC2 News that Johnson was wanted on two unrelated warrants.
Both warrants were for violation of probation from Marijuana convictions issued in February.
