The suspect in two shootings in Montgomery County that killed two people and injured two others has been charged.

Eulalio Tordil, 62, of Adelphi, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder and four counts of the use of a handgun in the commission of a felony.

Tordil is being held without bond, and will have bond review Monday.

He was arrested Friday afternoon following shootings at the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda at the Giant in Aspen Hill. One man was killed in the Bethesda shooting, and a woman was killed in the Aspen Hill shooting.

In a press conference Saturday night, Russ Hamill, chief of the Montgomery County Police's Investigative Services Bureau, said the motive for the shootings was a carjacking. There was no known relationship between Tordil and the victims, Hamill said.

Tordil was an employee of the Federal Protective Services placed on administrative leave two months ago after a protective order, filed by his estranged wife, was filed against him.

Hamill noted Tordil's job in the press conference.

"Tactically, he probably has the same skill and knowledge our people do," Hamill said.

Tordil was also charged Friday with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of his estranged wife at High Point High School in Beltsville, Prince George's County. He's also charged with assault for shooting a man there, Prince George's County Police said.
