Maryland State Police arrested a man for sexually abusing a child. Investigators say the abuse began 27 years ago and based on evidence, they believe there may be other victims.

James Morris Jr, of Cordova, faces a range of charges including child abuse, and second and third degree sex offense. Cordova is accused of abusing a child who was five to eight years old when the abuse took place from 1990 to 1993. Morris is still waiting to have his initial appearance before a court commissioner.

Troopers assigned to the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) got a cybertip in October of this year concerning the production of child pornography and the sexual abuse of several children. That led them to Morris.

On Thursday, investigators served a search warrant at Morris' home and recovered computers and other electronic equipment belonging to him.

They believe Morris sexually abused a number of children in the past and may be currently abusing young teens.

State Police are asking anyone who may have been assaulted by Morris, or has further information to call Trooper First Class Andrew Franzen at the Easton State Police Barrack, at 410-819-4747.
