Uber driver charged with kidnapping in Prince George's County

An Uber driver was arrested and charged with assault and kidnapping in Prince George's County. 

Westagne Pierre, 29, of Greenbelt, Maryland was working as a Uber driver the night of Oct. 18. According to police, he picked up the victim in Washington, D.C. to drive her to her home in Virginia. 

Pierre instead drove her to a hotel in College Park. According to police, Pierre removed the victim from his car and carried her to the hotel room.

Pierre also used the victim’s credit card shortly after.

Pierre was arrested Oct. 27 and faces charges of kidnapping, assault, and fraudulent use of a credit card. Additional charges are pending.
