A deadly shooting turned into a barricade in Frederick Wednesday night.
The incident began as an altercation between two men inside an apartment in the 400 block of West South Street and continued outside.
Frederick Police said the suspect, identified as 62-year-old Richard Jerome Harriday, shot the victim once in the upper body. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Zachary Winters.
Harriday then ran to a garage off Hoffman’s Alley and locked himself inside for about two hours. During that time,
Harriday spoke with negotiators and eventually surrendered peacefully.
He’s been charged with first and second-degree murder.
