Bowie State student found stabbed near College Park residence hall; suspect charged

UMPD were notified around 3:05 a.m. Saturday of an assault with a knife on Regents Drive near Montgomery Hall. Officers responded and found a male on the sidewalk seriously injured.

Medical assistance wad administered until paramedics arrived to the scene.

The victim, a black student from Bowie State University,  was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

An individual was stopped on Regents Drive by Prince George’s County Police and identified by witnesses as the male who assaulted the victim.

The suspect, 22-year-old Sean Urbanski, is charged with first and second degree murder, as well as first degree assault. 

UMD Police have confirmed that Urbanski is a student at the university. 

Police say they do not believe race was a factor in this incident. 

Events of the assault were determined through the use of campus surveillance video.
