Tuesday marks National Voter Registration Day

The election is six weeks away and the deadline to register to vote is quickly approaching. Volunteers will be hitting the streets around the nation on Tuesday for National Voter Registration Day.

In Baltimore, two registration events are being held. HeadCount will register voters at Mt. Vernon Marketplace starting at 11 a.m. on 520 Park Avenue. Another registration event starts at 8 a.m. at Paul's Place on 1118 Ward Street.

In Maryland, the last day to register to vote for the presidential election is Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Registration can be completed online here, by mail or in person at local board of elections; the State Board of Elections; the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; the Department of Social Services; the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA); Offices on Aging; the MTA Paratransit Certification Office; all public institutions of higher education; recruitment offices of the U.S. Armed Forces; marriage license offices; and Offices for students with disabilities at all Maryland colleges and universities.
