Hearing held for men convicted in child murders

The preliminary hearing for the third case of a child believed killed and decapitated by two men in 2004 was held Monday.

Two Mexican immigrants, Policarpio Espinoza Perez and Adan Espinoza Canela are already serving life sentences in the deaths of their three young relatives. They are entitled to a third trial because a Baltimore judge failed to show jury notes to their defense attorneys.

The May 2004 murders were shocking. Ten-year-old Alexis Espejo Quezada, 9-year-old Ricardo Espinoza Jr. and 8-year-old Lucero Espinoza were nearly beheaded.

The trial is scheduled for March 11.
