SILVER SPRING, Md. - A 13-year-old girl was struck and killed as she watched a soccer game Tuesday in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County police said officers responded around 8:30 p.m. at Eastern Middle School, located at 300 University Boulevard East in Silver Spring, for a pedestrian collision. Police said that the operator of a 2008 Ford Focus was driving in the rear parking lot of the school.
For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the parking lot, struck a sign, a tree, an adult female and the girl who were watching a soccer game.
