OCEAN CITY, Md. - A fund has been established to help a woman severely burned following an Ocean City church fire last month.
Dana Truitt suffered significant third-degree burns Nov. 26 when a man, identified as John Sterner, doused in gasoline entered St. Paul's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church and set himself on fire. The man attempted to restrain Truitt, who escaped and survived, but was gravely injured in the blaze. Both the man and Rev. David Dingwall eventually died from the incident.
Contributions to the The Dana Truitt Donation Fund are tax deductible, and 100 percent of all funds will go directly to Truitt, who is being treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center
Those wishing to help can make a donation and send them to the Dana Truitt Donation Fund, C/O Bank of Ocean City, P.O. Box 150, Ocean City, Md. 21843, or by dropping off a contribution at any Bank of Ocean City branch. Donations may also be made an online at http://www.ocrooms.com.
