On Tuesday another candidate is throwing their hat into the race to be Maryland's next governor.

Krish Vignarajah will announce she is entering the Democratic Primary at 1:00 pm at the St. Agnes apartments in Woodlawn.

Vignarajah was policy director for former first lady Michelle Obama, and was also a senior adviser at the State Department.

She joins an already crowded primary field - including Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, State Senator Richard Madaleno, Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker, former NAACP president Ben Jealous, entrepreneur Alec Ross, and lawyer Jim Shea.

The primary election is June 25 2018.
