Fatal fire near state university

FROSTBURG, Md. - A university student may be dead after a fire broke out at a college rental home in Western Maryland.

The State Fire Marshals Office says the fire broke out around 5 am in Frostburg on Friday.  They say four people lived in the apartments converted from a two-store home.  Three people were home and two of them were able to escape.

According to the Fire Marshals Office, the home was a "college rental unit" but they can't confirm if the person who died was a Frostburg University student or not.

They are still investigating the fire.
