Fatal crash in Laurel leaves 1 man dead

Maryland State Police College Park Barrack are investigating a fatal crash in Laurel that has left a 44-year-old man dead.

Police responded to Route 198 eastbound at the ramp to Interstate 95 northbound for a single vehicle crash shortly after 3:00 a.m. Sunday.

Investigations revealed a 2014 Jeep Cherokee was located off the road and overturned in the woods.

The driver, Howard Thompson, 43, was transported with minor injuries to Prince George’s Hospital Center.

Police say there were two additional passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Arden Hall, 44, was partially ejected from the car, he was pronounced dead on scene.

The other passenger who is unidentified at this time was also transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center for his injuries.

The Maryland Crash Team conducted an investigation that revealed driver impairment may have been a cause of the crash.
