The family of the woman killed in a crash after a deadly chase between Maryland Transportation Authority police and another car on I-95 in December 2015 is suing the state of Maryland, the police, and the other driver Michael Brown, for more than $100,000.

Police were pursuing Brown along I-95 near White Marsh when his car lost control, crossed the median and slammed head-on into the car of Sonjia Johnson-Baker.

Johnson-Baker suffered life-threatening injuries and later died. Two other passengers, Rolanda Johnson and Verlonda Johnson-Baker, were seriously injured.

The lawsuit seeks damages for the injuries of Johnson and Verlonda Johnson-Baker, and for the death of Sonjia Johnson-Baker.
