Elderly man killed, son hurt in car crash

ROCKVILLE, Md. - An 89-year-old man is dead after a two car crash in Montgomery County that sent his son to the hospital.

Police say Irwin Percival Bellamy, 89, of Kensington was the passenger in a  2004 Toyota Corolla driving west on Maryland Avenue in Rockville Saturday afternoon. The Toyota's driver was making a left onto Potomac Valley Road when the car was hit on the passenger side by an Oldsmobile driving east on Maryland Avenue.

Bellamy was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. The driver of the Toyota was the victim's son, David Alan Bellamy, 53, of Hanover, Maryland.  David Bellamy was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Oldsmobile, Rachel Miller Dawson, 73, of Potomac, Maryland was not injured and remained on the scene.
