A Delta flight from Baltimore enroute to Salt Lake City was diverted to Minneapolis/St. Paul due to a disruptive passenger Friday night.
Officials said Delta Flight 1189 left Baltimore at 5:50 p.m. Friday headed to Salt Lake City. According to Patrick Hogan, spokesman for the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport, at some point during the flight an intoxicated female passenger became disruptive, yelling and grabbing other passengers. Hogan said the pilot diverted the flight from its original destination to Minneapolis after the commotion began.
The flight crew was able to restrain the woman with handcuffs. When the flight touched down at 8 p.m. in Minnesota, the unidentified woman was met by airport police and escorted off the plane. She was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center for evaluation.
According to Hogan, Minneapolis/St. Paul International will not press charges. However, the woman could face federal charges from the TSA or the FBI.
