BALTIMORE - The beginning of April means the beginning of blue crab season.
It officially starts today, but don't grab your mallets just yet.
Because of the cold weather water temperatures in the Chesapeake Bay haven't risen enough for the crabs to become active or catchable.
Authorities say you should expect a slow start to the crab season.
Prices for Chesapeake Bay crabs are usually high at the start of the season, but this year... people will probably pay more than usual.
