Legislators are working to pass a bill that would mandate certain safe practices relating to girls' lacrosse in Maryland.
The legislation, introduced by delegates Jon Cardin and Dana Stein, was first read on February 8 and would require protective headgear be worn by girls participating in lacrosse youth sports programs. The legislation is pushing to require headgear in practices and games.
Male lacrosse youth sports program participants in Maryland are already required to wear protective headgear in games and practices.
