BALTIMORE (WMAR) - As you prepare the shovels and ice melt, Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) says they are getting ready for the forecasted storm too.
BGE released an announcement Wednesday stating that they are readying employees and field crews for the forecasted weather because it may bring power outages.
"BGE continues to monitor the approaching winter storm and is preparing to engage additional resources in restoration work, should conditions warrant," said Jeannette M. Mills, Vice President and Chief Customer Officer. "We appreciate our customers' efforts to prepare for adverse weather and to assist BGE in identifying outage locations by reporting power outages through our recently introduced mobile website at bge.com or our automated phone system at 877.778.2222," she said.
The company is urging it's customers to be proactive in preparing for the possibility of power outages by:
- Staying informed
- Making a plan
- Making a list of emergency phone numbers, and
- Building an emergency kit
