Maryland State Fair 

What: Fair organizers tout the state fair as the "best 11 days of summer." Vendors, exhibits, rides, food, crafts and games.

Maryland Renaissance Festival

What: Unique among most festivals, including renaissance festivals, the Maryland Renaissance Festival utilizes a story line and progresses each year forward in the timeline of Henry VIII, through all his reign and all his six wives. This year finds the festival in its third progression, well into the King’s marriage with his first wife Katherine of Aragon. MORE

When: The festival is open weekends (Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day Monday), from August 29 till October 25, 2015. Festival hours are 10:00am till 7:00pm.

Dance Theatre of Harlem: 40 Years of Firsts

What: This majestic exhibition of dazzling costumes, set pieces, and video excerpts celebrates an iconic company and its corps who defied prejudice, and gravity itself, in pursuit of their talent. In the process, the company made history and shattered barriers for future generations of aspiring performers. Dance Theatre of Harlem is a celebration of courage, and of the magic and uplifting power of the performing arts.

LEGO Castle Adventure Exhibit

What: Builders of all ages are invited to explore, build and play in the traveling exhibition. Explore the inside of the royal castle full of LEGO brick decorations, the king and queen’s thrones and secret passageways. Virtually build a fortress wall on screen and test its strength with a LEGO catapult. Using a colorful array of green bricks, children can plan and create and build their own topiaries. Climb into the lookout tower and defend the castle walls.

America's Largest RV Show

What: It's expected to be the largest yet in the show's history.Show space is currently over 960,000 net sq.ft and that does not include all of the demo space,” Rebecca Lenington, PA RV & Camping Association Executive Vice President, said. There are expected to be more than 1,300 RVs on display, along with many vendors and exhibits.

When: September 16-20 (9 a.m. - 8 p.m. -- Sunday: 9-5p)

Swim Across America -- Baltimore Open Water Swim

What: Swimmers of all ages are invited to take part in the annual event in beautiful Redhouse Cove. Whether you are a veteran swimmer or you're looking to do your first open water swim, you are welcomed to help fight cancer at the Swim Across America Lab at Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins.
