African American History Photo Exhibition: "A Stirring Song Sung Heroic"

What: On display at the Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery at UMBC, 80 photographs by William Earle Williams that explore African American history from slavery to freedom. From the UMBC Arts and Culture Calendar : This exhibition of 80 photographs by William Earle Williams depicts places in the New World from the Caribbean and North America that are unheralded and uncelebrated where Americans, black and white, determined the meaning of freedom. Prints, newspapers, and other ephemera related to the struggle for freedom accompany the work.

Disney’s My Son Pinocchio, Jr.

What: Children’s Playhouse of Maryland, in residence at CCBC Essex, will present Disney’s My Son Pinocchio, Jr.

Green Restaurant Week 

What: Local residents are encouraged to visit restaurants that have been certified under the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Environmental Stewardship Program. This program certifies and recognizes "green" restaurants that use locally grown products, implement systems or processes that improve energy efficiency and conserve water and offer instruction on sustainable practices.

What: Now in its third year, the Annapolis Film Festival features some of the best indie films out this year.

Craft Oyster Tasting

What: Both farm raised and wild caught oysters will be featured at this tasting event at Racer's Cafe. The event will include eight to 10 varieties of oysters available at $.50, $1.00 & $1.50 each.

Memory Ball "Dancing Stars," Baltimore
