A Frederick County judge sentenced Alejandro Garcia, 53, of Pittsburgh, PA to 80 years in prison on Friday.

Garcia was found guilty of eight of nine charges against him on April 28, 2017, including sex abuse of a minor, second-degree rape, three counts of second-degree sex offense and three counts of third-degree sex offense.

The Frederick County Police Department began an investigation into possible sexual abuse that occurred eight to 13 years ago on May 24, 2016. The investigation began after a pastor showed the father of one of the victims a letter she had written about her abuse by Garcia as a child. It was later revealed that the father's other daughter was also sexually abused by Garcia.

Through the investigation, two additional victims were found to have been sexually abused by Garcia between 2003 and 2008. The victims ages at the time of abuse ranged from six to 13.

Sixty years of Garcia's sentence is designated a mandatory minimum, requiring Garcia to serve 60 years before being eligible for parole.
