A new ban on cigarettes could soon be in effect

MARYLAND - Delegate Jon Cardin plans to introduce a bill that would prohibit the sale of non-biodegradable cigarette butts in Maryland.  In the bill, businesses caught selling them would face a fine of up to $200.

Cardin wants to introduce the bill because non-biodegradable cigarette butts pollute the state's waterways.  Cardin, a democrat, is looking to become the state's next Attorney General.
