A booming crab population means cheaper crab prices in Maryland this summer.

The population of crab is up by 140 million this year. Some restaurants are reporting cheaper prices for a bushel of crabs--some by as much as 20 percent lower than last year.

Not only that, but crabbers from down south have lowered prices as well. A 40 pound box of crabs from Texas or Louisiana can be as cheap as $240, down from $300.
