448 Marylanders registered for Boston Marathon

Listings for the Boston Athletic Association show 448 Marylanders registered to run the 2013 Boston Marathon , which was marred by tragedy Monday afternoon.

According to those records, 47 individuals from Maryland never finished the race, although it's likely many of them were pulled from the course following two explosions around 3pm.

An additional 75 runners did not start the course according to the listing.  Among those who deferred or opted out is Ashley Recker, an assistant field hockey coach with Johns Hopkins University. The university confirms she did not participate.

Among the hundreds of Marylanders who did complete the course was University of Maryland Medical System emergency physician Dr. Wade Gaasch.  The university confirms he was in Boston for the marathon but had not been able to reach him by cel lphone.  Marathon listings show he finished the race in 4:03:55.

A former member of the Towson University Cross Country team was also among the finishers of the race. Megan Digregorio crossed the finish line with a time of 2:57:30.

Rob Santoni, owner of Santoni's Supermarket in Baltimore, also completed the race. Santoni's wife tells ABC2 Rob crossed the finish line about 30 minutes before the explosion.  She indicated he is already in a car en route back to Baltimore.

ABC2 has learned all members of the Howard County Striders running club are safe and have gathered together according to the group's Facebook page .  In addition, members of the Falls Road Running Club are also accounted for and safe.
