Someone in Maryland is $1 million richer after Wednesday night’s historic Powerball drawing.

The winning $1 million ticket, one of 34 across the country, was sold at the Potomac Shell, located at 12140 Darnestown Road, in Gaithersburg.

The massive $758.7 million jackpot went to one lucky person in Massachusetts, making it the largest grand prize won by a single ticket in U.S. lottery history.

The drawing also produced two $50,000 winners in Maryland. “Overall, there were 201,079 winning tickets sold in Maryland for last night's Powerball drawing, with prizes ranging from $4 to the $1 million winner sold in Montgomery County,” according to Maryland Lottery and Gaming officials.

Local winners are urged to sign the backs of tickets and keep them safe until claiming prizes at Lottery headquarters, located at 1800 Washington Boulevard in Baltimore.

The $1 million winner must claim his or her winnings within 182 days of the drawing date.
