Rod Rosenstein has been confirmed as the nation's new deputy attorney general. He will serve under Jeff Sessions.

The Senate voted 94-6 to approve Rosenstein as the number two man at The Department of Justice.

Rosenstein will now have to decide if he wants to appoint an independent prosecutor in the Russian meddling case with last year's election.

He'll also help hire dozens of U.S. attorneys after President Trump asked for their resignation in March.

Rosenstein served as Maryland's attorney general for nearly 12 years.
