SOUTHINGTON, Conn. - Prom season is coming up and most teen girls can't wait to pick out their perfect dress. But one school has decided to change the dress code, which is sending some teens back to the store.
In January, a school in Connecticut instituted a new dress code for all school dances. It forbids hems above fingertip length, extremely low cuts in the front or the back and midriffs. Shoes must also be worn at all times. Students aren't thrilled with the new rules, and some girls even had to return dresses they already bought.
The school says it is not looking to stifle all fashion choices and that most parents agree with the dress code changes.
