Columbia shoppers will soon have another place to get their groceries.
Howard County Executive Ken Ulman made a formal announcement about bringing Whole Foods to the area.
Whole Foods Market offers high quality natural and organic products and an array of local and artisan foods and a bulk food department.
The store will be open in the former Rouse Company building with a market on the main level adjacent to the parking on Little Patuxent Parkway.
That building is currently occupied by The Howard Hughes Corporation.
Renovations will start over the next couple months and the Whole Foods Market will open late summer or early fall of 2014.
