Part of Main Street in is open, but the work isn't even close to being done in other parts of Ellicott City.
The residential section of Ellicott City saw as much damage as their neighbors down the street, but feel that response there has been limited.
"It's critical, it's critical we're desperate," Gayle Killan said.
Volunteers with Metanoia Church and the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief are working with families impacted by flooding to help them try to get back to normal.
"The Southern Baptist have a relief arm for disasters like this and they mobilize on a national scale so we've had folks here from all over Maryland, we've had folks who aren't even a part of our church but are trained in disaster relief," Rev Adam Feldman of Metanoia Church said.
The help has many in the area thankful.
"I don't know what we'd do if we didn't have organizations like that," Killan said.
It's help that is gladly given.
"Our goal is to bring help and hope to our neighbors," Davey Jones of Southern Baptist Relief said.
