Variety of seminars to highlight WomenFest

The 8th Annual WomenFest—a spotlight on women’s health and wellness—will be held April 30 in Howard County.

ABC2 News anchor Kelly Swoope will appear as a special guest at the event, held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center, 2400 Route 97 in Cooksville.

A variety of seminars are planned, including:

Sex, Sanity and Sleep: A look at the myths of menopause

Paint It to Frame It: A step-by-step painting workshop

Balancing Digestion for Total Body Health: Learning how to eat a balanced diet

So Hard to Discard: Lessons on how to de-clutter

Purpose, Passion and Presence: How to take the steps to add more balance, meaning and mindfulness to your life

There will also be cooking demos, including one on how to use spices and sauces to enhance your cooking, and one on how to plan a brunch using in-season fruits and vegetables.

A “core camp” is new for this year, and it includes 45-minute sessions on Pilates, yoga and yogalates.
