Teen sentenced for Elkridge crash deaths

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WMAR) -

A 19-year-old Linthicum man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his guilty plea to two counts of manslaughter for his role in the death of two teenagers in an Elkridge crash.

Howard County Circuit Court Judge William Tucker sentenced Dale Kirk Audet II to 18 months in prison for his plea to two counts of criminally negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle. Upon his release, Audet must complete 200 hours of community service and will be on supervised probation for 5 years.

Citing Audet's driving record, Sr. Assistant State's Attorney Danielle Duclaux told the court that since receiving his driver's license, Audet had multiple citations and warnings for speeding, including a warning issued in Anne Arundel County just two day before the deadly collision on Lawyers Hill Road.

Audet was the driver of the vehicle that crashed into a tree along Lawyers Hill Road last November 25. Two teenagers died in the crash, Jeffery Ryan Giles, 19, and Jonathon Lloyd Deckman, 18.
