Howard County, where a tornado was confirmed, weathered the worst of the storm, and officials from the Maryland Emergency Management Agency were there inspecting the damage.

Howard County officials handed out water to those in need.

BGE said the utility was continuing to restore service to customers who lost power, with the help of crews from its sister utility PECO in Philadelphia.

As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, service had been restored to more than 49,000 customers, or about 95 percent of customers who lost power during the storm.  BGE expects full customer restoration by Wednesday night.

More storms could be on the way. A second round of storms will hit the area Wednesday night into Thursday.
