COLUMBIA, Md. - The Howard County Food Bank received a $6,000 check from six local restaurants for its commitment to fighting hunger.
The Olive Garden, Red Lobster and LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants in Columbia, as well as three LongHorn locations in Laurel, Rosedale and Hanover, donated the money through Darden Restaurants’ Restaurant Community Grants program.
Now in its third year, the grant program empowers Darden restaurants to award a $1,000 grant to support local community programs. Nonprofit organizations that receive grants support one of Darden’s three key focus areas: education, preservation of natural resources and hunger relief.
The six restaurants worked together to award a larger grant for a greater community impact.
