Howard County's Bravest
Howard County, Md. -
VIPs and fallen heroes, friends and family, God and country.
Tonight a room full of men and women who give everything they've got, got a chance to receive a little back.
Mike Greenhill met Stephanie Andrews in December for departmental pictures; she met him in May, when he needed her the most.
"I remember we were playing soccer, and i noticed there was some chaos over at the side of the field," Andrews said.
"Its as if I was a TV that was playing, and all of the sudden the picture just goes dark," Greenhill said.
Greenhill was in cardiac arrest, no AED on site. Andrews did CPR until the paramedics arrived.
"Our teammate knew her from church and invited her to play, that's the only reason she was there," Greenhill said.
Tonight Andrews worked the check in, even stood guard during the ceremony, in a room full of heroes who never take a day off, she stands ready.
Andrews said that she was not going to entrust Greenhill's life in someone else's hands.
So how do you thank an angel, a hero, someone who asks for no thanks?
And in a moment, a lifetime of gratitude.
"She was my angel, without her I'd be dead," Greenhill said.
