Howard County residents can speak out tonight on plans to possibly drop two Jewish holidays from next year’s school calendar.

The plan is to only close schools on state-mandated holidays, meaning Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur wouldn't be observed.

The school board is inviting the public to comment on the plan at tonight's meeting at 7:30 at the department of education in Ellicott City.

The board will vote on the proposal in January.
