WOODBINE, Md. - A man was crushed by a falling tree as he stood at a grill in Howard County Saturday afternoon.
Witnessed said the man was tending a grill at a home in the 2800 block of Daisy Road in Woodbine when a large tree fell on him. When medics arrived around 4:30 p.m. they found man trapped under the tree with fatal injuries. The exact cause of why the tree fell is under investigation, but officials said it appeared to be rotten.
Three children at home when the tree fell received minor injuries. Two were taken to Howard County General and released. The tree also caused extensive damage to the house and four vehicles. The house has been deemed uninhabitable due to a large hole in the roof.
