Ellicott City state of emergency extended to Sept. 20

The flooding damage in Ellicott City is expected to cost at least $12 million.

The heart of Ellicott City shut down at 7 p.m. Monday and will remain closed for the next three weeks. The state of emergency has been extended through Sept. 20. 

County executive Allan Kittleman announced the members of the Historic Ellicott City Recovery Community Advisory Group. They are tasked with making sure Ellicott City bounces back. The goal is to have the historic district back in business by mid-September.
