Maryland State Police have identified the man killed when his car went over a bridge embankment on I-95 Monday and the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
The driver, who was killed in the crash, has been identified as 73-year-old Nathaniel White of the 6500 block of Westmoreland Avenue in Takoma Park, police said.

Around 11:30 a.m. Monday, White was driving a 2005 Ford truck towing a trailer southbound on I-95 near the Patapsco River Bridge.
In that area, the truck and trailer separated and the truck hit the bridge embankment, went over it and landed in the park below.
The truck was engulfed in flames on the ground. The trailer remained above in I-95, blocking the two right lanes of traffic.
Police say White was the only person in the truck and it’s unclear how fast the vehicle was going. The cause of the crash is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
